Almost Bayville

A Winter's Ride for Artisanal Pizza
A Winter's Ride for Artisanal Pizza

Want to stay warm this winter? Want to ride your bike this winter? Want to reward yourself for meeting those two goals? At the same time!?! Then we have a solution. This ride. We're going almost all the way with a North Shore ride to just short of Bayville, Long Island. This is a 40-ish mile moderately-paced ride with hills (that's the staying warm part) to The Red Tomato (that's the reward part) for wood-fired Neapolitan-style artisanal pizza. We start from Cunningham Park. Slightly more miles before lunch to work up an appetite while providing a psychological edge upon return ("hey easy peasy - we're almost done this freakin' thing!"). Bring the usual: 2 water bottles of liquids; maybe a snack; light lock; tube, oh, and a road bike for those hills; helmet, of course; and a warm smile and a cheery disposition. Ok, a fairly decent disposition will be sufficient. It's winter after all. Hey just come! You'll feel better after — we guarantee!
